Visual Music

January 27th, 2008

Its interesting that a few people have commented on myspace that our music sounds like massive attack or has a massive attack ‘groove’, we’re well into that style of music, and there wasn’t enough music of that style around so we thought it would be great to try and make some.

The visual aspect of massive attack is very good, using facts and figures on their last tour in the backdrop, also featuring political statements as the war in iraq was in full swing at that time (which we were against as well, and went on a march in london against it).

But the visual aspect of other bands also inspire us, such as pink floyd with the spectacular displays – there is something about a good visual aspect that works well with ‘visual music’, music you can almost see, imagine what it could look like.  Also, people in the amazon don’t just listen to music they see it just as much as hear it, a visual landscape, like a map of the jungle is painted using drums, flutes, vocals and various percussion.

The merging of the imagination into our music into the visual aspect is happening now – we are creating music videos that reflect what we imagine when we listen to the music.  Its almost like reading a book, we see what happens as the story unfolds in the music.
