Allow Downloads on your music!

January 30th, 2008

I get lost with the amount of artists I like on MySpace but don’t allow song downloads :-(

Set all of your songs to allow downloads, you’re gaining more than you’re losing.

Its easier to play your tunes on a hard disk / music player than to bookmark your myspace page and have to manage song playing that way.  That means more fans, hopefully!

You’re not losing the ability to sell your music, there’s only 5 songs on MySpace, an album is 10 or more tracks.

You’re gaining plays on last.fm as well, every artist needs those!

If you set your songs to download now, send me a message and let me know and i will add them to my music collection.

Visual Music

January 27th, 2008

Its interesting that a few people have commented on myspace that our music sounds like massive attack or has a massive attack ‘groove’, we’re well into that style of music, and there wasn’t enough music of that style around so we thought it would be great to try and make some.

The visual aspect of massive attack is very good, using facts and figures on their last tour in the backdrop, also featuring political statements as the war in iraq was in full swing at that time (which we were against as well, and went on a march in london against it).

But the visual aspect of other bands also inspire us, such as pink floyd with the spectacular displays – there is something about a good visual aspect that works well with ‘visual music’, music you can almost see, imagine what it could look like.  Also, people in the amazon don’t just listen to music they see it just as much as hear it, a visual landscape, like a map of the jungle is painted using drums, flutes, vocals and various percussion.

The merging of the imagination into our music into the visual aspect is happening now – we are creating music videos that reflect what we imagine when we listen to the music.  Its almost like reading a book, we see what happens as the story unfolds in the music.
